Softball Canada Announces
2026 Men’s National Team Athlete Pool

Ottawa, Ont. - Softball Canada is pleased to announce the list of thirty-six (36) athletes who have been named to the 2026 Men’s National Team Athlete Pool, representing a current snapshot of the Men’s National Team program. The Athlete Pool was selected based on performance at various national and international events.

“We are extremely excited about our 2026 Athlete Pool” stated Softball Canada President Scott Neiles. “We have three years to get this group ready for the 2028 World Cup Group Stage. With so many retirements after the last cycle, there will be lots of opportunities for many of these athletes to wear a Canadian uniform.”

The Athlete Pool features ten (10) athletes who competed in the 2025 WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Finals where Canada finished fifth, and an additional four (4) who won a bronze medal at The World Games. The previously announced U23 Men’s National Team Athlete Pool is also considered part of the Men’s National Team program.

The next WBSC Men’s World Cup cycle runs from 2026-2029, with the first qualifying event in that cycle being the 2026 WBSC Americas Pan American Championship, which is scheduled to take place February 21 to March 1 in Monteria, Colombia. The WBSC Men’s World Cup Group Stage is scheduled for 2028 and the Finals in 2029.
