Softball BC Insurance Program

Softball BC provides coverage to registered players/participants and member associations via our SBC Insurance (broker) and Markel (underwriter). Read the Softball BC Insurance Program Coverage Summary.

Liability Insurance

No matter how careful you are, accidents happen. You can be sued by anyone who claims injury or damages resulting from your activities. You may not be liable, but you will need to be defended in court. A liability policy will pay for this defence as well as any costs awarded against you. In short, liability insurance gives you peace of mind.  All members of the organization are covered during sanctioned or authorized events.

A copy of Softball BC's Master Insurance Certificate is available here. You can request an addition to our Master COI to cover your indoor training, field permits or fundraising by using this link. Please allow for a minimum of 3 business days for any changes.

  1. Complete the Softball BC Liability Request Form if you wish to request a Commercial General Liability (CGL) Extension.
  2. Please allow 15 business days to receive a quote from the Softball BC office
  3. Commercial General Liability coverage is NOT emergency travel medical insurance. Please check with your current extended benefits provider (if applicable) whether your benefits plan provides travel medical insurance, or seek optional emergency medical coverage from a third party.
